João Mourato Pinto é licenciado em Relações Internacionais pela Universidade de Coimbra e é mestre em Relações Internacionais – Estudos Europeus por esta universidade e por Sciences Po Bordeaux (França). João é professor de diplomacia e doutorando na Universidade do Minho, dedicando-se ao estudo da ação global da União Europeia, particularmente em relação ao Brasil e à América do Sul. João integrou um projeto de investigação dedicado às Parcerias Estratégicas da UE com o financiamento da Fundação para a Ciência e Tecnologia (FCT) e trabalhou no Conselho Europeu de Investigação/European Research Council (Comissão Europeia). Além disso, João foi Presidente da Erasmus Student Network (2017-2019), organização onde trabalhou para melhorar a acessibilidade e a qualidade dos intercâmbios académicos no ensino superior a nível global. João Mourato Pinto é membro do Centro de Investigação em Ciência Política da Universidade do Minho e colabora com a Foundation for European Progressive Studies (FEPS). Os seus principais interesses de investigação são a Ação Externa da União Europeia, política externa brasileira, regionalismo sul-americano e diplomacia.
