Edna Costa is Assistant Professor of Political Science at the School of Economics and Management of the University of Minho. She holds a PhD in Political Science from NOVA-FCSH (2018) with a thesis on “Reconciling Work and Family: Inequalities and Capabilities in Portugal and Spain”. She is an integrated researcher at the Political Science Research Center (CICP-UM). Her research interests focus on issues of representation, political participation and social policies from a gender perspective, on which her publications have focused.
She has participated in several research projects such as “Democracy in Times of Crisis” (FCT) and “Varieties of Democracy in Southern Europe” (FFMS), at NOVA-FCSH. Between 2019 and 2021 she was a PhD researcher in the project “The Secret Garden of Politics” (FCT), as well as in the project “The Political Participation of Young People in Portugal” (FCG), both at the University of Aveiro.
