04/14/2021

The Research Center in Political Science (CICP) invites all interested parties to attend the Seminar “Redes de Governação Local em Portugal: desafios de operacionalização e do seu estudo“ [Local Governance Networks in Portugal: operational challenges and their study], to be held at 2:30 pm on Wednesday, April 28, in the Great Auditorium of EsACT (Polytechnic Institute of Bragança) and via videoconference. The Seminar will be presented by Professor Luís Filipe Oliveira Mota (Polytechnic Institute of Leiria and GOVCOPP-UA) and is associated with the Research Project DeCiDe: Governação Territorial Descentralizada.

Local Governance Networks are forms of governance that are more and more frequent in several countries, including Portugal. The fact that Portugal has a hierarchical and politicized administrative tradition and a civil society that is not very active can pose a challenge to the operationalization of these networks. Thus, it is important to understand what the main challenges have been and the ways to overcome them. Likewise, it is important to understand how these phenomena can be studied.
