About our Guest Speaker:

Inês Cosme holds a PhD in Global Studies from NOVA University Lisbon. In her doctoral project, she explored degrowth theory and practices, mainly through understanding the role of bottom-up and top-down initiatives in performing fundamental changes in the way economic and social relations are performed currently, to a system that respects a plurality of values and is based on cooperation and solidarity. She has been a researcher at CENSE since 2012, currently working as a Science and Technology Manager and being responsible for CENSE communication. Inês has been collaborating in multiple research projects over the years at the center in the fields of sustainability assessment, green economy, environmental policy instruments and ecosystem services.  Her background is in Environmental Engineering from FCT NOVA, and she also holds an Advanced Studies diploma in Climate Change and Sustainable Development Policies from the University of Lisbon.
