The presentation of the book “Administração Pública Portuguesa” [The Portuguese Public Administration] took place on April 10 at the Sala de Âmbito Cultural de El Corte Inglés, in Lisbon. The session was a conversation between the author, António F. Tavares (Professor at the University of Minho and Member of the CICP), and the politologist Filipe Teles (Pro-Rector of the University of Aveiro), with the moderation of Manuel Carvalho, director of the newspaper Público.
Although the Portuguese public administration has made progress in the last 50 years, the idea persists that, at times, it is too distant from the citizen, and there is still a high level of dissatisfaction among the approximately half a million civil servants.
